How can I send proof?
If you have any proof to send us (EX: fixed windshield, taillight, etc.) please send it to ACAO@prosecutors.ky.gov. Please include your name, date of birth, photo of citation, & court case # if you know it.
Do I need to attend court?
Our office does not have the authority to excuse you from court. If you are unsure on whether you need to attend court, you should attend court.
Can you reschedule my court date?
Our office does not have the authority to reschedule your court date. You can notify the Circuit Clerk's Office & our office if it is an emergency.
Can you dismiss my case so I don't have to attend?
Our office cannot dismiss your case.
How do I file for an EPO?

Our office cannot provide legal advice or representation.
Our office does not handle Emergency Protective Orders (EPOs) and Domestic Violence Orders (DVO). The Circuit Clerk’s Office (located at
151 S. Main St., Lawrenceburg, KY 40342) handles all EPOs & DVOs.
I am the victim, can I drop the charges?
Once a complaint is filed by the Commonwealth it may not be dropped.
Can a defendant speak with the prosecutor?
Prosecutors are ethically prohibited from speaking with defendants and we cannot provide legal advice. You need to speak with the prosecutor during court or hire a private attorney to handle your case. You may also ask the judge if you qualify for a Public Defender to be appointed to you.
How do I find out information about custody of my child?
Our office does not handle custody agreements and you will need to hire a private attorney for this matter.
I have an attorney, can I still communicate with your office?
If you are represented by an attorney our office cannot correspond with you. We can only communicate with the attorney that represents you.
Can I file a complaint with you office?
Our office does not take complaints from the public. We pursue complaints that are given to us through law enforcement.
How do I find out if a child support payment was made?
The easiest way to see if there has been a child support payment has been made is to use the Child Support Interactive Website.
